Part of a Whole

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

This second quarter of being on deputation has been so refreshing. I had done my first week of training at my mission board, BIMI, virtually back in December. I enjoyed it, but getting to be in-person for the second week of training showed me what I was missing. I am so thankful that God does not have us go through our lives alone. I got to meet at least fifty other people who were all doing the same as me, committing more to God and having a burden to spread His name!

The second week of training involved several technical classes to get us prepared for moving to a foreign field and how to remain flexible while settling in. My favorite thing from this week though, was getting to hear the stories from all the leaders at BIMI, who had themselves served on the mission field. Getting to see their heart for God and continuing to see church members interested in the Romanian ministry definitely motivate me to keep going.

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

God has blessed in these last three months with getting to present to ten different churches! Three of these meetings were mission’s conferences and I got to meet other missionaries there as well. I have also had the opportunity to teach two ladies Sunday School classes, which to me is more nerve wrecking than speaking to a bigger crowd from the stage. But God gave me two great classes to speak to, and I’m excited to see how I can serve and teach in other ways for future churches.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Immediate prayer requests for this next term include my survey trip to Romania in July! Borders have finally become more lenient for American travelers. Please pray that I will be a blessing to the Tyler’s during a few of their summer outreaches, and pray that I will have wisdom in finalizing things for when I move there.
