Deputation and Camp Ministry

These last three months have been some of the best for my deputation. I'm getting closer and closer to reaching all of my support and it is easy to get impatient during this time, but God knew what I needed. In July, I had the privilege of working at Fernwood Christian Camp in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. God provided this during a time of not being able to get very many meetings since it was summer, and it was neat to be a part of the same kind of ministry I will be helping with in Romania.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13

The leaders of this camp, Cody and Lena Noseworthy were so great to work under; and since I was there for a full month, I got to see more of their consistency and love for camp ministry as well as the many visions they have for the growth of the camp. During the weeks of camp, I was also able to work with other counselors, a lot who are in the stage of transition I was a few years ago with college, and it was just an awesome time not only getting to serve together but getting to encourage each other by sharing how God has worked in our lives. I thank God for the work He did during these weeks: there were several salvations and decisions made and even a couple teenagers surrendered to missions.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

In August, God provided in an unexpected way. Missionaries try to get a full schedule, but God blessed through Bro. Keith Hilton who scheduled churches for me and provided a place to stay for the whole month of August. During a few of the services, I was refreshed and reassured by the messages given from God's Word about a Christian's journey and purpose.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans 6:13

At the end of August and beginning of September, more unexpected surprises came. At a Walmart in Maine, I ran into some friends I knew from several years ago in Missouri and was able to present at their church too, and some more Pennsylvania meetings came from people I met during camp. I ended this quarter at a missions conference back in Missouri, and am happy to report that I am now at seventy-eight percent of my support. I am now at the stage to start working on acquiring my visa, so I would appreciate your prayers for that to run smoothly.

Thank you so much for your continued prayer and support!

In Christ,

Olivia West

Thank you so much for being interested in the ministry I am involved with in Romania. Deputation was a two and a half year journey, but it was great to see how God provided in many ways. I moved to Romania in May of 2023, and I am excited to be a part of where the Lord is working!
